Test Automation & Management for Lebara (London)
Problem/ Use Case: Lebara were a new entrant to the market, launching their first ever TV product. As an Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) they had very little experience in testing or TV platforms and therefore approached QTF for help
Solution/ Project: QTF started by providing a 10 day consultancy package to understand the project goals, architecture and stakeholders. A comprehensive strategic test plan was then produced for them explaining what should be tested, and how. QTF provided all testing services for the project. In early stage development we provided manual testing. As the product matured and stabilised we were able to introduce automation in a tiered approach.
We automated using TestPlant due to ease of use and because their device portfolio was large… they required testing on a number of different enabler groups such as STB, smartTV, tablet, phone and desktop.TestPlant offered the advantage of being able to write a test once and execute it on any device within the enabler portfolio. The automation tools used for this project was TestPlant and Selenium Webdrive.

The Automation Integrator for Sunrise (Zurich)
Problem/ Use Case: Sunrise approached QTF for a solution, with the frame conditions of improving product quality and introducing automation.
Solution/ Project: We introduced them to Witbe as a test tool specifically focused on TV testing, with the added advantage of being able to test other parts of the Sunrise service in parallel – VoIP and Internet. We strongly recommended not to test IPTV in isolation, but instead to test “like a customer”, which means to test the TV service along with voice and broadband services together. Therefore understanding how all the services interact with each other and to get a “total picture” of customer experience.
